2 Atlantic City Electric workers shocked after ladder touches power lines

Two Atlantic City Electric workers are hospitalized after an extension ladder they were using accidentally struck power lines in Margate on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The men were unconscious when police were called to South Coolidge Avenue near the corner of Pacific Avenue at about 5:30 p.m., Margate police said.
Officers performed CPR on the workers, who were brought to an area hospital before being transferred to a Philadelphia hospital.
An update on their conditions wasn’t immediately available Friday morning.
“Our thoughts are with the individuals impacted by this event,” Atlantic City Electric said in a statement. “The safety of our customers, employees and contractors is always our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities and are continuing to investigate this matter.”
